Do I have to sign up to participate in Light It Orange?

It really helps if you do sign up, then we can keep in touch with you, provide resources, and you can see how we are doing in real time with reaching our fundraising goals, and how you or your team is contributing to that progress.

I've fundraised cash. How do I get this to Shine?

We have a number of options for you:

1. If you have an online fundraising page, you can bank all the cash into your personal account or work account. Then make a donation online with your personal or work credit card.

2. Deposit the money directly into our account via internet banking (account name: Shine, 06-0705-0544729-00). PLEASE reference it with ‘LIO’ with your first and last name. Then please email with confirmation of your deposit, the name of whom to thank, and a contact phone number.

What is the sign up cutoff date?

You can sign up until Friday, 10th June 2022. However, the sooner you register, the better so we can send you a welcome pack and keep in touch with campaign updates, resources, and ideas!

When does the money I’ve raised have to be given to Shine?

Please make sure you get your funds to Shine by DATE TBC, so we can announce our grand total and make sure you get a fundraising certificate.

Where will the money I’ve raised go?
Money raised in Auckland will support our frontline staff who work directly with victims of family violence. Every $250 you raise will cover the cost of a crisis callout to a victim’s home in response to an urgent referral.

Money raised outside of Auckland will assist in promoting our free-to-call national helpline, so that more victims, who are often isolated and feel they have no one to turn to, know that there is help available and are able to get in touch to get the help they need.
